Stichting Nedlloyd Pensioenfonds, Rotterdam, Netherlands, hired Threadneedle Asset Management and MFS Investment Management to run a combined €60 million ($85 million) in active European equities, according to Frans Dooren, the €1.2 billion fund’s investment manager.
Threadneedle will manage €27 million in large caps and €6 million in small caps, while the remainder will be invested in an MFS large-cap strategy.
Funding came from terminating three European equity managers that ran a combined €60 million. Mr. Dooren wouldn’t name the managers.
“Performance was not the main issue,” Mr. Dooren said. “We implemented a shift in strategy.”
