Maryland State Retirement and Pension System, Baltimore, hired executive search firm Korn/Ferry International to assist in the system's search for a chief investment officer.
The CIO oversees the investments of the $36 billion system and has full discretion to hire and terminate asset managers.
The previous CIO, Mansco Perry III, left Oct. 31 to become CIO of the $587 million endowment fund of Macalester College, St. Paul, Minn. A. Melissa Moye, Maryland deputy treasurer for financial policy, is acting CIO.
