Anthony W. Ryan will join Arrowstreet Capital next month, according to sources who declined to be identified.
Bruce Clarke, Arrowstreet's president, couldn't immediately be reached for details on what role Mr. Ryan will play at the quant firm.
Earlier this month, Mr. Ryan left Fidelity Investments, where he served as chief administrative officer. Fidelity spokesman Vin Loporchio confirmed Mr. Ryan had left “in recent weeks,” adding “we wish Tony well.” He said Mr. Ryan's responsibilities have been assumed by other executives.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Ryan was a manager of global investments at PanAgora Asset Management, where he worked with Mr. Clarke, Peter I. Rathjens and John Y. Campbell, who co-founded Arrowstreet in 1999.
