If you're interested in promoting alternative investment education, the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association, Amherst, Mass., last month set up the CAIA Foundation to accept donations from individuals and companies.
The foundation's goals include “funding research and commentary on alternative investments, contributing to enhancing alternative investment curriculum standards, and encouraging talent through scholarships,” said Thomas A. Porter, managing director and chief operating officer of the CAIA Foundation in a news release.
The foundation's first scholarship program is for women who intend to earn the CAIA designation.
Hedge fund-of-funds manager Pacific Alternative Asset Management Co. LLC is underwriting 10 scholarships over the next five years for members of the non-profit organization 100 Women in Hedge Funds who will sit for the CAIA examination.
The deadline for scholarship applications is April 15. Application forms are available at http://foundation.caia.org.
