Ventura County (Calif.) Employees’ Retirement Association launched a search for a new retirement administrator to replace Tim Thonis, who quit in January.
His plans could not be learned by press time.
Henry Solis, the $3.07 billion system’s CFO, is the acting retirement administrator.
The position calls for knowledge of pension administration as well as portfolio management, according to the search notice on Ventura County’s website, http://portal.countyofventura.org.
The association’s board at its Jan. 23 meeting voted down a proposal by its general investment consultant, Hewitt EnnisKnupp, to act as outsourced CIO, according to the meeting’s minutes. Two board members said they thought hiring Hewitt EnnisKnupp would be a conflict of interest. The board also voted against hiring an executive search firm to assist.
Resumes are due April 1 by e-mail to [email protected] or by mail to Kelly Shirk, deputy executive officer, CEO-Human Resources for Ventura County, 800 S. Victoria Ave., #1970, Ventura, CA 93009
