Jeff Tyler was hired as portfolio manager for Principal LifeTime Funds, a unit of Principal Financial Group.
The job is new, said Jaime Naig, a Principal spokeswoman, in an interview. Mr. Tyler, who starts March 1, will have primary responsibility for Principal’s target-date funds.
Mr. Tyler most recently was chief investment officer of Exos Partners, a financial advisory firm, Ms. Naig said. Previously, he had worked at American Century Investments, where his last job was as lead portfolio manager and head of the firm’s asset allocation team.
John Morris, COO at Exos Partners, said in an interview that Mr. Tyler left the firm in December and that a search is under way for his replacement.
