Ashutosh Sinha will join Morgan Stanley Investment Management in Singapore as a managing director and senior portfolio manager with the firm's global emerging markets equity team, according to an internal memo obtained by P&I Daily.
The position is new.
According to the memo, signed by MSIM President Gregory Fleming, Mr. Sinha will start in early April.
The appointment marks a return to MSIM for Mr. Sinha, who was the firm's lead portfolio manager for Asia ex-Japan equities before leaving in 2006 to launch Amoeba Capital Partners, a firm focused on long-short Asian equities strategies. With his departure as managing partner, Amoeba will be closed.
MSIM spokeswoman Erica Platt confirmed the details of the memo.
