Eli Salzman was named a managing director and portfolio manager at Neuberger Berman, focused on U.S. large-cap value equity.
The position is new.
Mr. Salzman will establish an institutional large-cap value capability at Neuberger Berman, filling “a huge gap in our product lineup for the institutional space,” Joseph Amato, the firm's president and chief investment officer, said in a telephone interview.
In the same interview, Mr. Salzman said the depth of Neuberger's resources, including its bottom-up research capabilities, will allow him to hit the ground running.
Neuberger's existing large-cap value capabilities have been focused on high-net-worth investors.
Mr. Salzman was a partner at Lord Abbett, managing more than $10 billion in U.S. large-cap value equities. His responsibilities at Lord Abbett were assumed by Robert P. Fetch, partner and director of domestic equity portfolio management, and a team of portfolio managers, said spokeswoman Marisha Mistry.
