Irina Miklavchich was named fund manager, global emerging markets equities, at Threadneedle Asset Management.
She will be based in London; her position is new, Laura Cook, spokeswoman, said in an e-mailed response to questions.
She will join the team led by Vanessa Donegan, head of Asia and emerging markets equities, and will manage a number of global emerging markets funds, according to a Threadneedle news release.
Ms. Miklavchich was an executive director in Goldman Sachs' principal strategies group. Goldman Sachs initially planned for most members of the principal strategies unit to leave together and form a hedge fund. The company then decided to disband the group.
