Florence Lombard was named CEO of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association, effective Jan. 3, confirmed Nina Berman, CAIA’s associate director of marketing.
She succeeds E. Craig Asche, according to a CAIA news release. He announced plans to step down earlier this year. Mr. Asche advises his family’s investment office.
“Craig Asche accomplished a great deal in seven short years, taking the association from a startup to a well-respected alternative investment knowledge center and sponsor of the globally recognized CAIA designation,” Ms. Lombard said in the news release. “My challenge will be to seek new opportunities for growth and development, such as expanding our presence in Asia, and keep the association growing to meet the educational and networking needs of professionals in this dynamic industry.”
Ms. Lombard is a founder and former CEO of the Alternative Investment Management Association. She stepped down from that position in December 2008, but stayed on with AIMA as executive director focusing on the organization’s relationship with governments and policymakers internationally. She left in March.
Andrew Baker replaced her at AIMA as CEO.
Efforts to reach Ms. Lombard were unsuccessful.
