John Y. Kim, president and CEO of New York Life Investment Management, will add the title of chairman effective Jan. 1, confirmed spokesman John Puccio.
Mr. Kim will assume the chairman’s title from Gary Wendlandt, who also serves as vice chairman and chief investment officer of parent New York Life Insurance Co., when Mr. Wendlandt retires at the end of the month, as previously announced.
Mr. Kim will drop the title of president, making him chairman and CEO of New York Life Investment Management. The president’s position is being dropped.
As previously announced in August, Mr. Kim will also assume the title of CIO for the parent company when Mr. Wendlandt retires.
