Nicolaas Marais was named head of multiasset solutions at Schroder Investment Management, effective in March, confirmed spokeswoman Estelle Bibby.
His start date at Schroders has not been set. He will report to CEO Michael Dobson.
Mr. Marais will replace John McLaughlin, who will focus on the firm’s liability-driven investing and structured solutions businesses. Mr. McLaughlin’s new title has not been determined, Ms. Bibby said; he will report to Mr. Marais.
Mr. Marais was managing director and head of active allocation management within BlackRock’s Multi Asset Client Solutions group, a BlackRock spokeswoman confirmed. His duties have been assumed by managing directors Michael Huebsch and Adam Ryan. Mr. Huebsch heads the BMACS group, while Mr. Ryan is lead portfolio manager of the Dynamic Diversified Growth strategy within BMACS.
