Cynthia Steer was named managing director, investment strategy, at Russell Investments, confirmed spokeswoman Kate Stouffer.
The New York-based position is new.
Ms. Steer “will be responsible for advising North American consulting relationships, driving consulting thought leadership on global investing topics and providing market insights on complex investment issues,” according to a news release from Russell.
Janine Baldridge, Russell’s global head of consulting and advisory services, said in an interview that Ms. Steer will work with Russell clients as well as the firm’s manager and asset research teams.
Ms. Steer was chief research strategist and managing director of beta research at investment consultant Rogerscasey.
