Marc Spilker was named president at private equity firm Apollo Global Management, effective Wednesday, confirmed spokesman Charles Zehren.
The position is new.
Mr. Spilker retired from Goldman Sachs in February as partner and co-head of its investment management division. Edward C. Forst replaced him, joining Tim O'Neill, the division’s other co-head.
Mr. Spilker will be responsible for Apollo’s day-to-day operations and serve on the firm’s five-person executive committee.
