Charlie Metcalfe was named president of Nikko Asset Management Europe, responsible for the firm’s operations in Europe, the Middle East and the U.S., according to a company spokesman.
Mr. Metcalfe will be based in London and replaces Charles Beazley, who moved to Tokyo earlier this year to become head of Nikko’s international and institutional business. Mr. Metcalfe will report to Mr. Beazley.
Mr. Metcalfe left First State Investments in 2009, where he was CEO, and has since served as adviser to Auden Capital, a corporate finance company focusing on the asset management industry. He will remain a non-executive adviser at Auden.
