New Mexico Educational Retirement Board’s investment committee on Thursday committed $40 million each to private equity funds Strategic Value Global Opportunities II and Black Diamond Capital Management Opportunity III, and up to $30 million to real assets fund Ecosystem Investment Partners II, according to Bob Jacksha, chief investment officer at the Santa Fe-based $8.8 billion fund.
Separately, the fund returned 13.4% for the year ended Sept. 30, outperforming its benchmark by three percentage points and ranking in the third percentile of its peers. For the quarter, the fund returned 8.4%, trailing its policy custom benchmark by 0.1 percentage points.
