Alaska Permanent Fund Corp., Juneau, has chosen FTSE RAFI US 1000 as its benchmark index for about $1 billion in U.S. large-cap and midcap equities, confirmed Laura Achee, spokeswoman for the $36.7 billion sovereign wealth fund.
Mellon Capital Management will continue to manage the allocation, which had used the S&P 500 and S&P 400 indexes as benchmarks, confirmed FTSE spokeswoman Jill Mathers.
The FTSE RAFI US 1000 tracks the largest 1,000 U.S. companies as measured by fundamental value.
