StepStone Group acquired SilverBrook Private Equity, a private equity consulting and secondary fund investment firm, Caroline Luz, StepStone spokeswoman, confirmed in an e-mail response to questions.
Terms of the deal are not being released.
Thomas Bradley, Mark Maruszewski and Michael McCabe, partners at SilverBrook, will join StepStone as New York-based managing directors.
The acquisition will help expand La Jolla, Calif.-based StepStone’s private equity consulting business on the East Coast.
SilverBrook was launched earlier this year. Prior to the acquisition, StepStone managed customized separate accounts making investments on the secondary market, and “we see further growth in this activity post acquisition,” Ms. Luz stated in a separate e-mail.
