Andrew J. Powers was named vice president of defined contribution strategy at Lincoln Financial Group, confirmed spokeswoman Daniela Palmieri.
The position is new.
Mr. Powers will oversee Lincoln’s overall defined contribution strategy, focusing on “mergers and acquisitions and growth opportunities,” according to a company news release.
Ms. Palmieri provided no details, but she pointed to comments in the news release by Duane Bernt, head of finance and strategy for Lincoln’s defined contribution business, that said: “With Andrew’s extensive experience in the retirement plan industry, we are well-positioned to expand our presence in the marketplace.”
Mr. Powers was a division vice president at UNIFI Companies Retirement Plans. Scott Stuckey, a spokesman for UNIFI, said a search is under way to select a replacement for Mr. Powers.
