Russell Investments expanded its alternative investment team with the addition of Egidio “Ed” Robertiello, managing director of alternative strategies, and Samuel Baughn, director of operational due diligence.
Both positions are new, Matt Burkhard, a Russell spokesman, wrote in an e-mail response to questions.
Mr. Robertiello, based in New York, focuses on hedge funds and is working on increasing Russell's manager research and selection capabilities. He was managing director and head of hedge fund solutions for Credit Suisse Group. A Credit Suisse spokeswoman who declined to be named confirmed Mr. Robertiello's departure, but declined to say when he left or who replaced him.
New York-based Mr. Baughn is responsible for operational due diligence functions across all alternative investment strategies. He joined ETF Portfolio Management as principal, COO and CFO in May 2009. David Kreinces, ETF PM’s founder and portfolio manager, said Mr. Baughn's new position was “a better fit for Sam” since the firm decided not to launch a hedge fund and went with an ETF-of-ETFs model instead.
