John Garibaldi was named a managing director and head of institutional advisory and sales at J.P. Morgan Investment Management Americas.
The appointment was one of a number of changes announced in an internal memo by George Gatch, recently named CEO of JPMIMA, which comprises the firm’s institutional and retail asset management operations as well as its record-keeping business.
Mr. Garibaldi replaces John Hunt, who will be leaving the firm in October to pursue other opportunities after staying on to help with the transition, confirmed spokeswoman Mary Sedarat. She had no further details on Mr. Hunt’s plans.
Mr. Garibaldi had been a managing director and head of the strategic client group in J.P. Morgan’s institutional business. A replacement has not been named.
Jed Laskowitz, meanwhile, was named head of retail sales, replacing Mr. Gatch. Mr. Laskowitz had been a managing director and head of global strategic relationships for the retail business. A replacement has yet to be named.
Bob Young was named chief operating officer for the Investment Management Americas business, a new position. Previously, he was COO of the retail business.
Replacements for Messrs. Garibaldi, Laskowitz and Young have yet to be named.
Patricia Maleski was named president of J.P. Morgan Funds, and chief administrative officer of J.P. Morgan Funds and institutional pooled investment vehicles.
She remains chief administrative officer of retail, taking on the additional title of president from Mr. Gatch.
