Francis Chu was named a director at Lyxor Asset Management and a member of its hedge fund research team.
He will be responsible for manager selection in global macro and CTA investment strategies for Lyxor's hedge funds-of-funds portfolios and separate account investment platform, according to an e-mail from Jim Galvin, a Lyxor spokesman.
Mr. Chu reports to Dennis Heskel, head of hedge fund research. Mr. Chu replaces Stephen Tu, who left the firm in July, Mr. Galvin said.
Mr. Chu was director of research and a co-portfolio manager at hedge funds-of-funds manager Muirfield Capital Management. Geoffrey Stern, Muirfield's president and co-founder, did not return a call seeking information about Mr. Chu's replacement.
