Energy Capital Partners II, a private equity fund focused on the acquisition, development and construction of North American energy infrastructure assets, has closed at $4.335 billion, said Paul Parshley, vice president of Energy Capital.
Total capital commitments exceed the fund's $3.5 billion target.
The firm began raising the fund in late 2008, had a first close in June 2009 and a final close on Monday, Mr. Parshley said.
Park Hill Group was placement agent.
Investors include the $54.6 billion Minnesota State Board of Investment, St. Paul, and the $33.1 billion Illinois Teachers' Retirement System, Springfield. Illinois Teachers also was an investor in the firm's first fund.
