Gretchen Tai, director of investments at Hewlett-Packard, was named chief investment officer at the company, effective in September.
Ms. Tai will replace Kenneth Frier, who was named CIO at Stanford Management Co., overseeing Stanford University’s $14.5 billion in assets, including the endowment, on Monday. He will join Stanford in September.
As CIO, Ms. Tai will oversee HP’s $30 billion in worldwide retirement assets. Information on plans to replace Ms. Tai could not be learned by press time.
