Ford Motor Co., Dearborn, Mich., contributed $400 million to its worldwide pension plans in the second quarter ended June 30, according to an 8-K the company filed Friday with the SEC.
Spokesman John Stoll said company officials weren’t breaking out the amount contributed to its U.S. plans, with combined assets of $38.4 billion. Ford’s non-U.S. plans had a combined $17.5 billion. Both totals are as of Dec. 31; Mr. Stoll said more recent figures weren’t available.
In the first quarter ended March 31, Ford contributed $500 million worldwide, according to its 10-Q issued May 7. For 2010, Ford expects to contribute $1.5 billion to its worldwide plans, the 10-Q said.
In 2009, Ford contributed $136 million to its U.S. plans and $968 million to its non-U.S. plans, according to a 10-K report Ford filed Feb. 25.
