Maryland State Retirement and Pension System, Baltimore, returned 14.05% on its investments for the fiscal year ended June 30, bringing total assets to $31.8 billion, confirmed Michael Golden, a system spokesman.
The system’s credit portfolio returned 19.23%; public equity, 15.63%; fixed income, 14.31%; private equity, 14.16%; real return, 12.1%; absolute return, 7.47%; real estate, 3.55%; and cash, 2.48%.
“I believe these results demonstrate we have a portfolio headed in the right direction,” Mansco Perry III, the fund’s CIO, said in a news release.
The fund’s asset allocation is 51.2% public equity, 19% fixed income, 10.5% real return, 6.3% real estate, 4.4% absolute return, 3.4% credit, 3.2% private equity and 2% cash.
