Carmen Heredia-Lopez was named director of investments at the $8.9 billion Chicago Public School Teachers’ Pension and Retirement Fund, said Kevin Huber, executive director.
The position is new.
Ms. Heredia-Lopez, who started July 6, will oversee administration of the investment department and the fund’s three internal portfolio managers.
She was an investment analyst, overseeing the minority-, woman- and disabled-owned business investment manager and brokerage programs at the $22 billion Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, Oak Brook.
Rosalinda “Rosa” Vasquez, who was IMRF investment compliance analyst, replaced Ms. Heredia-Lopez, confirmed Linda Horrell, IMRF communications manager.
The Illinois Muni fund is searching for a new compliance analyst and has posted the opening on its website, http://www.imrf.org. Duties include monitoring compliance of the IMRF’s investment managers with investment-related compliance polices and regulations. Two years of professional investment experience are required.
Information on how long the search will be open and when the IMRF plans to fill the position was not immediately available.
