Consultant Albourne Partners in the fourth quarter will begin offering real-assets consulting services to all of its global clients, said David Harmston, partner and global head of the client group.
Albourne Partners began tracking hedge fund managers in 1994, gradually moving beyond data services to full hedge fund consulting services. Private equity consulting was added a few years ago.
The new consulting service covers commodities, oil and gas, timber, agriculture, mining partnerships and infrastructure. Real estate consulting will be added later.
The new practice will be led by Cam Richards, head of real assets. Mr. Richards is a commodities specialist who was chief investment officer of the C$2.9 billion (US$2.7 billion) Nova Scotia Association of Health Organizations Pension Plan, Bedford, until 2004. The plan is an Albourne client.
