Philippe Ithurbide, former overlay strategies manager for the C$131.6 billion (US$124.6 billion) Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec, Montreal, was named head of global research, strategy and analysis at Amundi, the asset management company formed from the merger of Credit Agricole and Societe Generale, confirmed Caisse spokesman Maxime Chagnon.
At Amundi, he will be a member of the institutional investment division and will report directly to Pascal Blanque, Amundi chief investment officer, deputy CEO and head of the institutional investment division.
Mr. Chagnon said the Caisse doesn't plan to fill Mr. Ithurbide's former post; his duties will be assumed by other employees.
An Amundi spokesman could not be reached for comment.
