Andrew Kuritzkes was named chief risk officer for State Street Corp.
He is replacing Maureen Miskovic, who departed in March.
Mr. Kuritzkes was most recently a partner and head of public policy at strategy consulting firm Oliver Wyman, State Street said in a statement Tuesday. He will join State Street in August and report to CEO Joseph “Jay” Hooley, who took over March 1.
State Street created the position in April 2008 when Ms. Miskovic joined the firm amid a series of appointments following fixed-income fund blowups beginning in 2007. The losses led to lawsuits from investors claiming State Street misled them about the funds’ investments. Since 2007, State Street’s asset management unit also appointed a new CEO, general counsel and global chief investment officer.
Jeff Carp, State Street chief legal officer, was interim chief risk officer since March.
