Nick Bonn was named global head of securities finance for State Street Global Markets, after a brief stint as interim head following the departure of Peter Economou, who resigned earlier this month.
Mr. Bonn, an executive vice president with the company, was global head of sales and client development for State Street Global Markets. State Street spokeswoman Alicia Curran Sweeney said Mr. Bonn will be replaced.
Mr. Economou and seven other executives from State Street’s securities finance business — which includes securities lending and enhanced custody operations — left the firm to launch an independent securities lending startup.
Separately, Douglas Stern was named a senior managing director at State Street Global Markets and head of global business development and client service for enhanced custody, and Yvonne Wong was named a managing director and head of enhanced custody business development for Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong. Both positions are new, Ms. Sweeney confirmed.
Mr. Stern was a managing director and co-head of U.S. prime brokerage sales at J.P. Morgan Chase, and Ms. Wong was COO at hedge fund Thaddeus Capital Management.
