The Alaska Permanent Fund Corp., Juneau, unanimously approved raising the salaries of 10 staff members, confirmed Mike Burns, executive director of the $35 billion fund.
Mr. Burns said in a telephone interview that the salary increases aim to attract and retain employees.
“We have to be competitive,” Mr. Burns said, noting the increases would cost the fund a combined $120,000 in fiscal year 2011.
He said six of the 10 employees set to receive raises are investment staff and four are operations staff.
