Alistair Lowe was named global equities chief investment officer at SSgA, according to a news release.
He replaces Arlene Rockefeller, who is retiring at the end of June after almost 30 years with SSgA, confirmed spokeswoman Arlene Roberts.
Mr. Lowe will oversee the manager’s $86 billion active and enhanced quantitative equities business.
He was CIO for SSgA’s global multiasset class solutions business. Dan Farley, managing director and head of SSgA’s U.S. multiasset class solutions team, will replace Mr. Lowe in that capacity, taking on the title of global head of investments for multiasset class solutions.
Ms. Roberts couldn’t immediately say if Mr. Farley would be replaced.
