Mark Degner was named managing director of acquisitions at Liquid Realty Partners.
He replaces Jeffrey M. Giller, who was managing partner and chief investment officer before leaving in October 2009. Earlier this month, Mr. Giller and Brendan MacDonald, formerly Liquid Realty's director of acquisitions, formed a new firm, Clairvue Capital Partners.
The position of CIO at Liquid Realty will not be filled.
Mr. Degner was an executive director at Morgan Stanley Real Estate Mr. Degner has not been replaced; his duties have been assumed by other Morgan Stanley executives, according to people close to the firm. Morgan Stanley spokeswoman Alyson Barnes declined comment.
