Private equity had an internal rate of return of 5.94% for the fourth quarter and -7.6% for the year ended Dec. 31, according to the results of the State Street Private Equity Index.
This was a slight increase from the 5.83% IRR reported for the third quarter 2009 and a rise from the -12.77% IRR reported for the year ended Dec. 31, 2008.
