Ms. Zhou will focus on research to improve investment systems and risk controls for Mellon Capital’s global asset allocation strategies, according to a news release.
She replaced Samer Habl, who left the company in July 2009, said Mr. Dunn. He didn’t have further details on Mr. Habl.
Ms. Zhou was an executive director of global macro and asset allocation at Morgan Stanley Investment Management. An MSIM spokeswoman said Ms. Zhou won’t be replaced, with her portfolio management duties to be assumed by Henry McVey, managing director and head of MSIM’s global macro and asset allocation team, and Francine Bovich, a managing director and portfolio manager on the team.
