R. Brian Webb was named chief investment officer of Baylor University, Waco, Texas, effective June 1, confirmed Baylor spokeswoman Lori Fogleman.
Mr. Webb will work with the Baylor executive investment committee in overseeing the university’s $1 billion endowment. He will report directly to Reagan Ramsower, vice president for finance and administration, and chairman of the committee.
Previous CIO Kent Muckel left in December to become a partner with Perella Weinberg Partners.
Mr. Webb was managing director of UBS Global Asset Management and head of UBS global real estate-U.S., farmland, UBS spokesman Kris Kagel wrote in an e-mail response to questions. Jim McCandless, managing director and president of UBS AgriVest, replaced Mr. Webb; he will retain his duties and title with UBS AgriVest, according to Mr. Kagel.
