Jerilyn Harris was elected board chairwoman of the $132.6 billion California State Teachers’ Retirement System, West Sacramento, and Harry Keiley was elected vice chairman, both for the 2010-‘11 term.
The two were unanimously elected at CalSTRS’ April 9 board meeting.
The chair and vice chair of the 12-member board are elected annually, according to a CalSTRS news release.
Ms. Harris, a retired science teacher, has served on the CalSTRS board since 2005 and was elected vice chairwoman in 2009. Mr. Keiley, a high school teacher with the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, was elected to the board in 2007.
Ms. Harris replaces board member Dana Dillon, as chairwoman. Ms. Dillon is a school teacher from Weed.
