Babson Capital Management LLC hired four executives for its new eight-member mezzanine and private equity team, which will invest in Australia, New Zealand and developed countries in Asia including China, Japan and South Korea.
Shane A. Forster and Adam H. Wheeler, were named managing directors in Babson's new Sydney office. Mr. Forster had headed AMP Capital Investors' Asian private debt business and Mr. Wheeler was at the helm of AMP's Australian and New Zealand private debt business, before they both left last August.
Emily Ritchie, spokeswoman for AMP Capital Investors, said in an e-mail response to questions that their duties were assumed by others on the team.
Elliott Wong, director, and Adrian Ng, associate director, also will work in the Sydney office. They were hired as part of Babson's March 3 takeover of an A$200 million (US$183.5 million) mezzanine debt portfolio managed by Australian investment manager Babcock & Brown.
