Pierre-Henri Flamand retired at the age of 39 after 15 years at Goldman Sachs, where he most recently was managing director and global head of principal strategies, the firm’s proprietary trading desk, confirmed Ed Canaday, a spokesman.
A replacement for Mr. Flamand has not been named, Mr. Canaday said.
Mr. Flamand, who was based in Goldman Sachs’ London office, could not be reached for comment.
A source with knowledge of Mr. Flamand’s plans, who asked for anonymity, said Mr. Flamand intends to start a hedge fund after the standard “garden leave” or non-compete period all Goldman Sachs’ managing directors are required to serve after leaving the company.
