Daniel P. Charles was named global head of distribution for William Blair Investment Management, effective March 10, confirmed spokesman Tony Zimmer.
The position is a new one.
Mr. Charles was an executive vice president and head of institutional and international sales, client service and consultant relations at Janus Capital Group.
Janus has launched a search for a head of the company’s non-U.S. business, with CEO Richard Weil stepping in on an interim basis, said spokesman James Aber. The company’s U.S. institutional team will work with Robin Beery, executive vice president and head of intermediary distribution, global marketing and product, to decide whether to hire someone to handle Mr. Charles’ former U.S. responsibilities, Mr. Aber said.
