William McDermott was named head of the institutional defined contribution business at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, confirmed spokeswoman Andrea Raphael.
James Shepherdson, president of AXA's Retirement Services, will assume Mr. McDermott's responsibilities.
Achuthan out at Credit Suisse
Hari Achuthan, a director on the North American distribution team for Credit Suisse's alternatives-focused asset management business, left the company last month, confirmed spokeswoman Suzanne Fleming.
Ms. Fleming had no information on Mr. Achuthan's plans, and he couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Mr. Achuthan had been a director in Credit Suisse's transition management business until last summer, when he was replaced by Charlie Shaffer.
A decision on whether to replace Mr. Achuthan on the distribution team has not been made, Ms. Fleming said.
Hermes names two partners for global credit boutique
Cian O'Carroll and John Lupton were named partners of Hermes Fund Managers' new global credit asset management boutique, a Hermes spokeswoman confirmed.
The positions are new. Official titles have not been determined, the spokeswoman said.
The £31.3 billion ($49.9 billion) BT Pension Scheme, London, seeded the new boutique with £400 million. The BT fund is Hermes' owner and its largest client.
Mr. O'Carroll was head of global credit and hybrids at Fortis Investments, and Mr. Lupton was head of market, customized and securitization strategies for Fortis in global credit and hybrids. Mr. Lupton had reported to Mr. O'Carroll at Fortis.
Maryam Muessel, global credit chief investment officer, will oversee the combined global credit team of Fortis and its new parent, BNP Paribas Investment Partners, a Fortis spokeswoman said in an e-mail response to questions.
Draper named head of ETFs at Credit Suisse
Dan Draper was named head of exchange-traded funds at Credit Suisse, a new position, according to spokeswoman Billie Clarricoats.
He will join Credit Suisse in the spring and report to Oliver Schupp, managing director, head of beta strategies and co-head of the bank's ETF steering committee.
Mr. Draper was global head of Lyxor ETFs at Lyxor Asset Management. A Lyxor spokeswoman could not be reached by press time for information about Mr. Draper's replacement.
Lincoln Financial names DC product head
Eric Levy was named head of defined contribution products, retirement solutions, at Lincoln Financial Group, according to a company news release.
Mr. Levy was a worldwide partner and defined contribution business leader for Mercer's outsourcing business.
Mercer spokesman Bruce Lee said Dave Tolve, retirement business leader for Mercer's outsourcing business, is “currently assessing the business and the needs of the organization,” and no replacement for Mr. Levy has been named.
Lincoln Financial spokeswoman Daniela Palmieri wasn't immediately available for further comment.
Neuberger-Berman names two for consultant relations
Jason Henchman was named at Asia-Pacific COO at Neuberger Berman Group and Chris Gunns was named head of consultant relations for the region.
Both Hong Kong-based positions are new, according to a news release.
Mr. Henchman was Asia Pacific (ex-Japan) head of legal and compliance at Legg Mason, while Mr. Gunns was regional manager-institutional sales and business development at ING Investment Management Asia Pacific.
Mary Athridge, Legg Mason spokeswoman, didn't immediately have any information on plans to replace Mr. Henchman. ING spokesman Dana Ripley wasn't immediately available for comment.
Hartford Investment Management names head of muni finance
Joseph Darcy was named an executive vice president and sector head of municipal finance at Hartford Investment Management, confirmed spokeswoman Julia Zweig.
He will join Christopher Bade as a portfolio manager on the $404 million Hartford High Yield Municipal Bond Fund and the $254 million Hartford Tax-Free National Fund.
Mr. Darcy succeeds Charles Grande, who left in June 2009.
Mr. Darcy was a portfolio manager at BNY Mellon Asset Management. BNY Mellon spokesman Mike Dunn didn't immediately have information on plans to replace Mr. Darcy.
