Jaeson Dubrovay and Bruce Ruehl joined specialist hedge fund consultant Aksia as partners in the Americas advisory services group, Jim Vos, Aksia's CEO, confirmed in an interview.
The two are assuming the duties of Jacob “Jake” Walthour who was partner and head of advisory services for the Americas before leaving the firm to join Citadel Investment Group as managing director and head of U.S. distribution for its Citadel Asset Management subsidiary.
Mr. Dubrovay was senior strategist and head of the hedge fund consulting group at NEPC; Mr. Ruehl was chairman and chief investment officer of hedge fund-of-funds manager Gleacher Fund Advisors.
Erik Knutzen, NEPC's CIO, said in an interview that the firm is interviewing external candidates and expects to replace Mr. Dubrovay soon. NEPC will “continue to grow our hedge fund team” and may hire more staff in addition to Mr. Dubrovay's replacement, Mr. Knutzen said.
Maria Gentili, a Gleacher spokeswoman, did not return a call seeking information about a replacement for Mr. Ruehl. A source with knowledge of Gleacher Fund Advisors, who asked not to be identified, said the firm is in the process of being closed.
