Eric Nelson was named chief risk and compliance officer of the $136 billion Florida State Board of Administration, Tallahassee.
The risk and compliance oversight new division “centralizes the complex compliance functions that had been spread throughout the SBA's business units and will establish standardized policy detailing compliance procedures,” Dennis D. MacKee, communications director, said in a statement.
Mr. Nelson will report to Ashbel C. Williams, executive director and chief investment officer.
“The change reflects recommendations made by Deloitte Development LLC, which was hired by the SBA to conduct a strategic analysis of the agency's compliance program. Deloitte made recommendations after comparing the SBA process of risk and compliance to systems used by registered asset management firms.”
Mr. Nelson was senior operating officer-planning policy and administrative services. He will retain his duties for planning and policy development.
Lori Guido was named senior operating officer of financial operations. She was director of financial operations.
Robert Copeland who was senior operating officer for accounting and financial operations, was name senior operating officer for accounting and administrative services.
