Alan Robertson was named global head, sales and service, for Northern Trust Global Investments, effective Feb. 1, confirmed Northern Trust spokesman John O’Connell.
The position is new.
Mr. Robertson’s will oversee sales, client services and product management. He will report directly to Stephen N. Potter, NTGI president.
Mr. Robertson was CEO and president of Northern Trust Global Advisors, parent Northern Trust’s manager-of-managers unit.
Joseph McInerney, COO of Northern Trust Global Advisors, will replace Mr. Robertson. Mr. McInerney’s duties will be temporarily assumed by existing employees until a new COO is named soon, Mr. O’Connell said.
Mr. McInerney will report to Mr. Robertson.
