Volker Kurr was named CEO at European stock and bond manager WestLB Mellon Asset Management, replacing Kevin Birch, who retired last year, spokeswoman Carmen Wientzek confirmed.
Mr. Kurr was managing director and head of institutional and wholesale business development at UBS Global Asset Management. That position will not be filled; Andreas Varnavides, country head of Germany and Austria, will assume the duties, a UBS spokesman said.
WestLB Mellon, a joint venture of WestLB and Bank of New York Mellon, managed $33.2 billion as of Dec. 31, nearly all for institutional clients.
