Don Rich was named vice president and head of tactical asset allocation at MFC Global Investment Management, confirmed spokesman Brian Carmichael.
He replaces Jim Schetakis, who left MFC Global late last year. Mr. Rich will be responsible for setting asset class weightings for many of MFC Global's TAA portfolios worldwide.
Until early 2009, Mr. Rich was a portfolio manager and director of research for foreign exchange at Harvard Management Co., which manages the $27 billion Harvard University endowment, Cambridge, Mass. At Harvard, he also assisted with TAA and derivative overlay implementation. Harvard spokesman John Longbrake said no replacement has been named.
