Peter Hames, head of Asian equities at Aberdeen Asset Management Asia in Singapore, will step down this fall, confirmed spokesman James Thorneley.
Mr. Hames plans to “move back to Europe and do something completely different” from asset management, Mr. Thorneley said. No firm departure date had been set, and Mr. Hames was not immediately available for comment.
Mr. Hames set up Aberdeen Asia in 1992 with Hugh Young, who continues as managing director. Mr. Hames’ duties will be handled by staff; he won’t be replaced, said Mr. Young in a news release.
