Sean R. Walters, was named executive director of the Investment Management Consultants Association, effective March 1, spokesman Beau Ballinger confirmed.
Mr. Walters, who has been IMCA deputy director since June 2007, succeeds Edythe “Dede” Pahl, who announced in June her plans to retire. She will stay on until Mr. Walters takes over. Mr. Ballinger said the association expects to begin searching for a replacement for Mr. Walters next week.
Executive search firm JDG Associates assisted in the search, which was launched in August, Mr. Ballinger said.
“We’ve had a great run of success, especially over the last two years and especially with what’s going on in the economy,” Mr. Walters said in a telephone interview. “We’ll continue to deliver premium investment consulting and wealth management credentials to the industry.”
