Peter O. Lopez was named president of Transamerica Investment Management as part of a succession plan for Gary Rolle, the firm’s CEO, president, chief investment officer and board chairman.
Also, Kirk J. Kim was named deputy CIO until June 30, when he will replace Mr. Rolle as CIO. Mr. Kim also will be co-portfolio manager of large-cap growth equity investment portfolios.
In other appointments, John J. Huber was named director of equity process and risk management; and Edward S. Han was named lead portfolio manager of Transamerica’s diversified equity investment portfolios.
Mr. Lopez will retain his previous responsibilities as director of research at TIM and as co-portfolio manager of diversified equity portfolios. Mr. Kim will continue as a lead portfolio manager of the firm’s concentrated all-cap growth equity portfolios.
Mr. Huber will be lead portfolio manager of large-cap growth portfolios and along with Mr. Han will continue as a lead manager on the firm’s midcap growth portfolios.
Mr. Rolle will continue as co-manager of Transamerica’s equity, diversified equity and balanced strategies until June 30, then serve as an advisory consultant through the rest of the year.
Transamerica, a subsidiary of Aegon Asset Management, has $16.5 billion in assets under management, according to a news release from TIM.
